Sports injuries can be a result of a repetitive stress or an acute trauma, which is often referred to as an overuse injury. These injuries can affect bones or soft tissue such as ligaments, tendons or muscles.
Youth sports are played at such a high level that many athletes find themselves in year round programs just to be able to compete. This intense training can result in overdeveloping certain muscle groups while at the same time leaving other muscle groups underdeveloped. This creates an imbalance, exposing the athlete to a variety of injuries. We have seen injuries in athletes as young as 13 that were once reserved for only professional athletes.

Treatments are specifically geared for the athletes’ unique and growing body and include education to make sure the patient learns the correct form to help not only quickly recover but also to help prevent future injury.
